The third available engine is a 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 with an output of 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. It can tow up to 11,610 pounds. The most powerful engine is the 5.7-liter V-8 Hemi with Etorque which can tow up the full limit of 12,750 pounds.
A Multi-Function Tailgate for Added Convenience
Another great feature of this year’s Ram 1500 is the addition of a multi-function tailgate. This powerful tailgate has a 60/40 split which allows you to open the bed lick a pair of barn doors rather than dropping it down. This might not seem like a huge addition, but it allows you to load the bed via forklift, which is a huge bonus for big DIY jobs. You can still use the 60/40 split tailgate when you’re towing a trailer for easy access.
There are also added closed cargo compartments above the wheel wells. This lets you keep valuable items or those you don’t want to be exposed to the elements safely tucked away.
