It also comes with a new trim level and additional engine option. Keep reading to learn what to expect with this vehicle, including trim levels, engine options, and driver assistance systems.

Trim Levels

The 2019 Jeep Cherokee comes with six trim levels: Latitude, Latitude Plus, Limited, Overland, Trailhawk, and Trailhawk Elite. The top-of-the-line trim is a new trim available for the 2019 model year. The base trim has a 7-inch touch-screen display, six-speaker audio system, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The Latitude Plus has a push-button start and satellite radio, but you can upgrade to the Comfort/Convenience package to receive a power liftgate, remote start, and dual-zone climate control.

The Limited trim has an 8.4-inch touch-screen display and a power liftgate, while the Overland trim has a nine-speaker Alpine premium audio system and a hands-free power liftgate. The Trailhawk trim comes with off-road suspension and enhanced four-wheel drive as well as several upgrade packages, while the Trailhawk Elite trim adds comfort features such as heated and ventilated seats.

Interior Comfort

Seating five people comfortably, the 2019 Cherokee has two rows of comfortable and supportive cloth seats. The base trim comes with air conditioning and 60/40-split-folding rear seat. The Latitude Plus trim has cloth and vinyl seats, power-adjustable driver’s seat, and leather-wrapped steering wheel. You can upgrade these two trims to receive the Cold Weather package, which includes heated front seats and steering wheel. The Limited trim has Nappa leather seats and dual-zone climate control, while the Overland trim has heated and ventilated seats.

Engine

To power this SUV, the 2019 Cherokee comes with a 180-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. You can upgrade the engine, however. A new 270-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine gives you plenty of power and excellent acceleration. In addition, three four-wheel-drive systems are available, and these include the Jeep Active Drive I, Jeep Active Drive II, and Jeep Active Drive Lock.

Driver Assistance Systems

To keep you safe, every 2019 Jeep Cherokee comes standard with a rearview camera and parking sensors. There are additional upgrades available, including automatic braking, blind spot monitoring, rain-sensing windshield wipers, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and rear cross traffic alert.

Safety Features

The 2019 Cherokee has a full set of LATCH car-seat connectors on each rear outboard seat. The back middle seat has an upper tether anchor as well as one lower one. Both have the ability to use a lower anchor from the adjoining seat. The entire operation is easy to use, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awarded the vehicle the highest rating. The vehicle also earned the highest rating in five crash tests conducted by the IIHS and a four-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
